COLTS vs TITANS Saints, Sinners, Wire Hire

Colts vs Titans

I'm am going to nickname this game the Outback Comeback Bowl. I see Peyton Manning and Chris Johnson both bouncing back from awful back to back performances.

Saint: Manning and C. Johnson

I am still leaving the Colts run game as my sinner. I see Kerry Collins having a rusty night also. unless you are in a 2 QB league Collins should be on the bench.

Sinner Indy RB and Kerry Collins

As far as wire hires.
there is no one standing out that should be noted for this game. I say the colts finally put it together against the titans and win a key divisional game.

Houston Texans vs Philadelphia Eagles Saints, Sinners and Wire hires

With the Thursday night game coming up tonight. JD and Childs put out their Saints, Sinners, and Wire Hires

Texans: (Childs)

Saint: Andre Johnson with no helmet, and just gloves burns the Eagles secondary. After the game Andre is carried off the field by Gary Kubiak screaming "Courtland Finnegan, I coming for you boy!!"
Sinner: Arian Forster with get his carries but look for Ward or even Slaton to steal some carries from him. Foster is coming of 30 rushes and 9 cathes last week vs TEN. and on a short week he could be worn on by the end of the game.
Wire Hire: Joel Dreessen is a top target since Owen Daniels is still OUT.

Eagles: (JD)
Saint: Jeremy Maclin should be able to torch the Texans secondary.
Sinner: Brett Celek will lose touches since the Eagles WR will be too busy running down the field alone.
Wire Hire: Jason Avant should be next in line to be picked up in any league. he will be a nice addition this week to your roster, especially in a PPR league.

Look for our Podcast this week and make sure to send in your questions.

Saints, Sinners and Wire Hires Week 6

Last week it was a trip to Vegas that derailed our podcasting. Totally our fault.  This week it wasn't our fault. For those of you eagerly awaiting the next show (and that's all of you), we promise that we'll get one out next week. In the meantime, we did pick our Saints, Sinners and Wire Hires for Week 6 that you can see below. SYL Podcast - August 19, 2010

With every team battling the inevitable training camp injuries and depth chart madness, Childs and JD talk about the fantasy relevant updates from across the league. This one's long, so think about taking a break after the AFC North!

SYL Podcast - August 4, 2010

Childs and JD talk about all fantasy relevant news since the our last podcast on July 20th. We talk Favre and the Vikings (as little as we can get away with), T.O., and some injuries and interesting deep sleepers that have already emerged in the first few days of training camp.

SYL Podcast - Mock Draft Results

Childs and JD talk about all the news since our last show, we take some listener questions and we also talk about the results of our mock draft (you can read about how we did it and see the results in our last post or just review the draft results in full screen mode). They argue draft strategy for those with picks towards the end of the first round - JD's for taking elite WRs, Childs argues for QBs - and talk about JD's crazy love for Michael Crabtree and Childs' equally crazy love for Roddy White among others.

SYL Mock Draft Results

Yesterday, JD and Childs took part in a 12 team mock draft, but mind you, it wasn't your average mock draft. We used standard scoring and a pretty average lineup structure (QB, 2RBs, 3WRs, TE, K, DEF, and 6 bench spots), but we each took six teams and alternated turns. JD's teams, along with first round pick position, are:

  • Utah Saints (1)
  • Fighting Artichokes (3)
  • Butte Pirates (5)
  • Los Angeles Saints (7)
  • Purple Pounders (9)
  • Watersmeat Nimrods (11)

Childs' teams are:

  • Clam Jammers (2)
  • San Antonio Saints (4)
  • Willy Mays Hayes' (6)
  • New Orleans Saints (8)
  • Cobra Kia (10)
  • Funky Lizards (12)

We decided to draft just among ourselves instead of in a mock draft lobby, mostly because we wanted to know where we stood, but also we didn't want to run into the inevitable Patriots fan who takes Lawrence Maroney as their first RB and Julian Edeleman in the 5th round and flushes the whole draft down the toilet. You can see the results of this draft below, and you can also view the results across your whole screen by going here.

You can hear us argue about draft strategy and some particular players who might have gone a bit too high (or low) on our next podcast. We'll also be tracking the progress of each team during the season to see how well we drafted this early in the 2010 season. We'll only be doing regular lineup changes - no trades or waiver moves period. Keep following the Steal your League blog for updated periodically throughout the season.
